If my salary gets delayed this coming pay day, I'm going to submit a resignation letter next week.

I just want to get some more rest. Hopefully the trip to Baguio would be more than enough.

Hmm... Wait. That wasn't what I really wanted to blog about...

People here often ask me, "Will you be sleeping here?" or "Will you be needing a sleeping bag or something?". It is NOT funny. Maybe it's just me, but they don't sound good. It's like they're insulting me. Sh*t.
Windows is really a pain in the ass... *sigh*

OT once again. Will I get paid for this? Dunno. I've been assigned dev tasks again. Probably because of this "part" of my job description: "Any other task assigned by management." *sigh*

I don't want to be a "tech support rep" anymore. If domains have a catchall address, my company has me as the catchall IT guy. :-| Honestly, I didn't graduate from UP DCS just to be a "tech support rep".

I want to be able to code again. I want to design an app. I want to use my brains, not my patience. I wonder when I'll get back to being a developer... I'm a flexible guy when it comes to IT stuff, but heck I can't do everything and not get paid "enough" (with enough being defined as the amount that I initially requested for). It's either I get some help around here or I get an increase in salary. I really would gladly do anything as long as it interests me (thankfully, anything IT-related interests me for even a small bit) but getting too much tasks is just... too much... :-<

Computers are pretty darn complicated things, huh? It kinda makes me wonder why a lot of people have computers/laptops yet they don't even know how to do basic stuff with them. You might tell me, that's what they pay IT guys for. I tell you now, IT guys don't get enough pay for the "problems" that users give them. Poor guys... and they're the ones who don't even have their own computers!

Low morale...

I feel sad hearing rumors/news that some of my Filipino officemates are leaving/resigning.

Hm... I guess I don't really want to talk about it... It just makes me feel sad and makes my morale so low that I'm starting to have thoughts about resigning too... :-|

I am so tired right now. I really want to get some rest. I am starting to think about something that I didn't expect I'd think about this early in my new career...

I know someone who works for a company that is more or less the same "size" as my current company. Do you know how many sysads they have? Three. Do you know how many sysads we have? One. Just one... and that's me.

I'm involved in everything that is even just remotely related to a computer or phone. I'm the all-around IT and telephony guy. I'm like a sysad/tech support rep/IT consultant/dev. Can you imagine how much work that translates to? I suggest that you don't even try to guess.

During the busiest days at work, there's a need for me to be in three places at the same time. Sometimes a local client has problems where I need to visit them and fix the problem (even when I'm not really their admin). Let's just say that this is my IT consultant function.

Then I also have to be always present at the office since a problem may arise any moment. Of course this is the most important/required part of my job. This is my tech support rep/dev function. There's not really much to administer in the office so I consider this to be a tech support rep function. The only thing that I need to worry about is the connection and connection security in general (a relatively minor admin thing). This includes administering the firewall, router, proxy and other servers. Most of the time I just do tech support and "technician" stuff. :(

I also have to be present online to manage a server in the US and several other stuff like email inquiries, etc. I need to be updated with regards to security things and new technologies. I manage a lot of (virtual) domains which includes web hosting and email.

I didn't really think this was what I signed up for. My work is slowly starting to kill me... (if I don't die, maybe I'll go crazy)
